On April 2, 2026, the Vegiterraneo program organized a press event in Sofia, Bulgaria, at YAMAS restaurant, bringing together journalists, influencers, opinion leaders, and agri-food sector professionals. The event was dedicated to showcasing the quality, safety, and nutritional value of European vegetables.
The event aimed to enhance awareness of European vegetables by presenting their key characteristics and benefits, while also highlighting their role in everyday nutrition. Special emphasis was placed on the importance of a balanced diet and the regular inclusion of vegetables in daily eating habits.
During the event, Xenofon Douloumis, Project Manager of the program and President of the “Anatoli” Cooperative, presented the main pillars of the Vegiterraneo program on behalf of all participating cooperatives. His presentation focused on the production methods of European vegetables and on the qualities that make them stand out, including freshness, quality, traceability, and safety.
Nutritionist Panko Stanchev also addressed the audience, speaking about the role of vegetables in daily nutrition and the importance of dietary variety. He highlighted that vegetables are an essential part of a balanced diet and can easily be incorporated into everyday meals.
As part of the event, guests received a dedicated press kit with information about the program and its activities. Following the presentations, a dinner featuring the promoted products gave participants the opportunity to experience the taste, freshness, and culinary versatility of European vegetables firsthand.
Through this initiative, the Vegiterraneo program once again confirmed its commitment to promoting the value of European vegetables and to informing the public about healthy and contemporary dietary choices
